Cycnoches is a spectacular genus with small, moderately sized, and large representatives among its species. The plants that produce racemes of highly exotic and fragrant flowers from stout pseudobulbs. As with Mormodes and Catasetum, Cycnoches require a winter rest period, during which they are watered sparingly. The foliage is deciduous. Spring blooms are followed by new growth that often consumes the old pseudobulb. Cycnoches enjoy moderately bright-bright light, warm-intermediate temperatures, and good air movement.
